The Quahog Republic Whalers Tavern is located in the heart of the whaling district of historic New Bedford. We transformed this 1790's building to give a feel of a historic whaling tavern. Both a nautical and period feel. Very relaxed and great place to unwind after or during a long day. We have one 50 inch television, though it is not always on. We would rather people enjoy each others company as a tavern feel should provide. We offer 14 drafts, craft cocktails, over 20 rums from around the world, house spiced rum, cask aged mai tai's, and a good wine selection. We are known for our chowder, monster lobster roll, stuffed quahog, and crunch cod fish and chips, but we offer much more that that including weekly specials. Live-Give-Relax

The food was very tasty. I had the chowder and a stuffy to start. The chowder was nothing special but the stuffy was great. Then came the shark bites and the loaded sweet potato fries which were both very tasty and very filling. The price was not bad but not cheap. The service was great on a slow night. Will be going back to try the mussels (which the were out of)

What do you want from a small tavern? They've it here,local seafood, healthy choices,or not,like the always decadent tasty truffle fries ,a good variety of tapped beer,and intriguing drinks,like this lemon ginger martini,try the cod cake appetizer served by a friendly,knowledgeable waitstaff, like Alyssa ...great place,Eric Bevins!
